back home

We are back home and (almost) back to "normal" life.  We spent a couple low-key days at home and adjusting back to the quiet slow-paced life. Jeremy's truck broke down and had us (me and Pearce) come tow him in the jeep. I kept thinking to myself "this is soooo country." hahahhaha But, Pearce took it very seriously and was happy she could help daddy, even if it meant being woken from her nap 15 minutes into it.

Yesterday, I was longing from something fun to do, so I suggested to Jeremy that we take the jeep up in the mountains for a little ride. So we put on some toasty warm clothes, and loaded up. I love that Pearce loves jeep rides. When I was 16 weeks pregnant with her, we went on a big Moab jeep trip. We always joke that she's been jeepin' before she was even born.
We listened to our favorite country album, Jason Aldean's My Kinda Party, along the way, and I thought it was funny when these lyrics played...

"I guess you gotta make your own fun
When you're stuck in a place this slow"
Wish I had a more flattering picture of me and Pearce--looking like we are enjoying the ride! Really we were! It's just hard to keep the phone/camera still has we are bumping up and down like crazy!!

There were tons of frozen mud puddles. My favorite part was driving through them and hearing the ice slush.
2011 was a great year. As I've reflected upon this past year, I can't help but think of how grateful I am to Jeremy's parents for letting us stay in their beautiful country home, and how that's allowed me to slow down from a crazy-stressful-California lifestyle and to be a stay-at-home mom. I can definitely say this has been one of the best years of my life (challenges and all).

Today, I've written down all of my goals, mini goals, and resolutions for 2012. I'm ready for the new year! I'm ready for what lies ahead!

How fun that you had a little day out jeeping! Can you believe I haven't seen snow once this winter? Sad. Please let us have at least 1 snow day this year!!

I can't tell you how happy I am that you, Jeremy and Pearce live close by. It's been so wonderful! We just need to see more of you and take a few trips up to Cle Elum this year for sure!
