It's in a beautiful city. And it's a great job that seems like we've waited a loooong time for.
BUT it's with sadness that we will not live next to Jeremy parents, and siblings. It has been a big bright spot in our lives over the past year+ to finally spend lots of time with family, and especially now that we have little Pearce for her to play with and know her cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. We always thought we would be moving to Seattle for a job, but not this time.
We've enjoyed our "country life" in Cle Elum, and the new friends we've made. And we'll definitely miss the garden and lack of traffic, too!
But sometimes (always) life is full of surprises, and requires a great deal of faith. We don't always know why we are led to places, but we are truly grateful and excited for this next chapter in our lives.
My mom recently shared the following with me, as Elder Bednar just spoke at their regional conference in Louisiana:
Elder Bednar spoke to us about personal revelation and said that we should not try to "overthink" things. But that we should just try to live our lives as "good boys and good girls" and we will receive the revelation as needed and not be led astray. He reminded us that Nephi tried 3 times to get the plates...he was righteous, he was entitled to personal revelation to get them, yet "he went not knowing beforehand what he should do"...Elder Bednar said that EACH step was necessary for him to learn something and to gain experience and faith.
He mentioned that even though the movie, "The 10 Commandments" is wonderful, it is his opinion that false doctrine is taught when Moses gets to the edge of the Red Sea and puts his staff into the water and it separates so that they can escape. Elder Bednar said that they would have had to have been knee deep, if not waist deep in water...exercising extreme faith and pressing forward...before the miracle would have occurred which parted the waters for their rescue.
So it is for us....so many struggles and tests to get us to our promised lands. It brings us to our knees and teaches us to turn to Him when we can not do it on our own. Remember, you have a perfect Father who will show you the way. We'll be moving to Salt Lake City, Utah in less than two weeks. Let the packing begin! (ugh!)

YEA!!!!!!!!! So super thrilled for y'all. Congrats again! Next time I'm in SLC I will definitely be giving you a call! :-)
woop woop, so excited for you! Pearce and the twins can become bff's :)
Wow! SLC! It has been fun to watch your country life over the last year and a half. You guys have really made the most of it!
Leaving family will be hard, but having family in Utah will help make the transition easier. Plus think of all the amazing fabric stores! And with so many members, you guys will make lots of friends fast!
Congrats to Jeremy on the new job!
you are so good at keeping things up to date on the blog!! i'm so excited for your move. it will make going to utah that much more fun. it's like a triple bonus, because now every time we go to see scott's parents we'll also get to see YOU as well as the "cool college kids." hahahaha. and i am totally with elise -- think of all the awesome fabric stores!!! :) good luck getting everything ready to go.
A huge congrats to Jeremy!! I'm so happy for you guys...all that hard work is paying off! I'm so excited to see pictures of your new place and to hear how you guys settle in. Brooke ( if you read this) I'm SO jealous you get Ems so close to you, but SO happy for you as well! Having a BFF near makes life so much easier! Now, I need to push Thomas to get a job in SLC and then the fun can really begin! Ha! ;-)
Awesome!!
Isn't it crazy to think about what your new future is??? I am so excited and happy for you guys! I know it's hard to leave friends and family behind but you get a chance to have new experiences and grow. I like what mom shared from Elder Bednar's talk. We've just tried to make good decisions and hoped for the best and we've always seen the Lord leading us along a path.
Anyway, good luck with everything moving related! At least you'll have Jeremy around to help with packing. Put him to work! :) Love ya lots!
Yay we'll kinda be neighbors too!! I'm happy for you guys that Jeremy got a great job... so nice to have that reassurance! Hope we can meet up sometime and see little Pearce in person :)

Congratulations! That's crazy and exciting. I loved Salt Lake, it's a good place. If you need hiking suggestions, I'm here to help! Enjoy the mountains for me.
Congratulations on the new job! I will definitely miss your country living posts, but so excited to hear about your new adventures in SLC!
I concur with everyone about missing your country living posts. You MUST make one of those blog picture books for Pearce which documents your time there in Cle Elum. I wanted so much to make a visit while you were living there.
Good luck with the packing...get rid of "stuff." My mantra during the last 7 or so moves has been "if you haven't needed or used it in a long while, you don't own it...it owns you" because you have to store it and care for it, all of which takes time and space.
Congrats to Jeremy...I knew they'd love him!!!
I'm so happy for you and Jeremy to have a fresh start with a new job and a chance to move forward after all your hard work and perseverance.
...But you know how sad I am that you're moving so far away. :(
Your mom's words are perfect. First you must take the step and everything will fall into place. And that's just what you're doing.
I'll miss you guys more than words can say. xoxo
Wow, congrats Emily!!!! I love Utah...it will be great for you guys and especially with his new job and all... sounds amazing!!! Congrats on the new job offer! It must feel SO good! Horray! I agree with the momma comment above...get rid of the stuff you don't use! That's the good thing about moving is de-cluttering all your unwanted "hud" . We just organized our closet and gave so many clothes away that just hung there and hung there and I never wore since high school, but for some reason I couldn't part with them. Now that they're gone and outta sight, it feels so nice!
Anyway, I was going off on a major tangent there..
I'm so sad you're not moving to Seattle. I kind had my hopes up there, can't lie! I thought we could have been BFF's and the girls too, but oh well! I'll catch up with you in utah sometime!
Congrats again!
wonderful. what a great quote by elder bednar. i can't wait to see rocky mountain southern living.
maybe you could create a cle elum quilt?
Congrats on the new job, Curfews! Although the moving process isn't much fun (we feel ya!), it opens up all sorts of new experiences. SLC is lucky to have ya! Oh, and thanks for that Elder Bednar quote. Just what I needed to hear/read today.
Congrats! Where in SLC will you be? We love it up here in SLC. I thought I'd hate it but the summers and springs are amazing! Where will Jeremy be working? Congrats!
GOOD LUCK, CONGRATs and happy packing!! Loads of love!!
Emily, I will miss you so very much, but am so excited for you! You've impressed me with your upbeat, positive attitude during this period. Onto siblings! friends! crafting/fabric stores galore! nursery for Pearce with other kids!! a job!! All the best things for you amazing people!
