maybe I shoulda started with finger paints...

Santa brought Pearce a little set of Crayola (washable) watercolor paints in her stocking. I thought it would be a good activity this morning to distract her from what she's been asking for from the moment she woke up: "CARTOONS!?"I try to limit one (maybe two) shows in the afternoon or during dinner-making-time. And Saturday we let her watch them in the morning  in bed with us. But this last Saturday she watched ALOT. And is still a little cuckoo from it...

This is the funny face I get from her when I ask her to "smile" for pictures:
She liked dipping the brush in the water more than painting.  She got paint on her finger, and thought that was really exciting, so I told her to wipe it off on the paper. That's when I realized, I should've started her with finger paints instead!
Not much painting, mostly flowers by me. She was much more interested in coloring the water. And then wanting me to get clean water.  (Like ten times.)
After a while of letting her do her thang... I gave her instructions:
**dip brush in water
**pick a color (pointing to one at a time)
**now paint on the paper
**then repeated until we did each color.
That way, we could at least get a "picture" out of this experience.

And a couple more photos from last week chillen' at the Safeway in her new "bubble dress" jumper. Still pluggin' along on the second one with scallops on the side.

I was at Target the other day & you know those magic markers that only draw on the special paper. Well I saw next to it finger paints that work the same way. !!
