I am really enjoying living in Salt Lake. I think it's a really neat city. And I've said it before, but I love our little neighborhood, and even more now that it's spring. Move over fall, I think I have a new favorite season! I've wanted to go to Temple Square on a Saturday with Jeremy and Pearce to see pretty flowers for a while now, but we've been out of town or have had houseguest. We went yesterday, but it was cold and raining so we just went to the Church History Museum instead and will save Temple Square for another day.
I have had wonderful experiences at Church History sites, and have had my testimony strengthened. Soon after we we walked through the doors there was a large beautiful stained glass artwork of Joseph Smith and his First Vision, along with scripture next to it. [As Joseph knelt and prayed, a brilliant pillar of light fell upon him. In it he saw two Personages. Heavenly Father spoke and said,] “This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!”
I feel a piercing in my chest everytime I hear or read this. I have a strong testimony of Joseph Smith being a latter-day prophet and that he saw God, The Father and The Son. And that he translated the Book of Mormon, additional scripture for our times specifically.
I saw on my friend's blog there is a fun kid's exhibit in the Museum with a Book of Mormon theme.
Pearce loved it and there were so many fun activities.
Nephi's Boat that you could help build and fish from.
Pearce has officially entered the "princess" and "ballerina" stage! I really thought as a parent I could control the likes/dislikes of my child, but turns out I was wrong, because I really don't know where she got the idea of wanting to be a ballerina. I had to dig in her baby clothes bin to find this tutu that was giften at her baby shower. And she wouldn't take it off...
Fun little computer games, puzzles, mazes etc
Latin Dancing & dress up. Pearce loves wearing dresses and skirts, so this was fun for her.
It took her a while to warm up to the "Latin" dancing. They had videos and music playing showing you how to dance and spin, etc. I was obviously having fun dancing. Here she is below trying to mimic the video. Love that little tongue wagging.
Felt clothes for wooden dolls.
Growing a little garden.
When we left the museum, I was starving. Like, get me to the closest restaurant pronto! But Pearce just wanted to "sit". And sit. And sit. And sit. What finally got her to get up and go was telling her we were going to the mall. She loves shopping at the mall. We went next door to check out the new City Creek Mall. Gorgeous!!! The fountains were beautiful, and everything was so new and nice! We ate lunch at Blue Lemon, and it was pretty delicious. And just a few photos from today after church modeling her "Easter Dress".
She always does this thing when I say "Let me see your dress/outfit/whatever"... and she twists her hip and her one foot inward. I love it. She looks extra old to me in these photos. Where's my baby girl at?!?!?!

Um...I need to buy that dress for Livi like now!!! Where did you get it? Love it! That museum looks so fun! I didn't know they even had that! We'll have to definitely try that out the next time we're in Utah!
linds, i got it on the clearance rack at Nordstrom Rack over Christmas break in Seattle. I thought it looked like an Easter dress with the pastels. I was in shock when I saw the tag "$9.95!" regularly like $50. who's pays full price anyways?? i can't remember the brand, but i think it's "sweet pea" -- i'll have to look in pearce's closet in the morn...
oh, and the museum, i think they switch out the children's exhibit every year or two--- so that means you need a trip here ASAP!!! :-)
