Amy bug turned 21 on Saturday!! And we were delighted to host a dinner and sleepover party on Friday night in her honor. She was craving mom's spaghetti, so spaghetti it was! And also a Texas Sheet bday cake. I was looking forward to that darn cake all day...and then took my first bite, and the cinnamon was overpowering. :-( ugh! I will not use that recipe again (Our Best Bites--I'm usually a huge fan.)
In the morning (Saturday) on her actual birthday, we carried on the celebration and went out to breakfast. It just took us a little longer than expected to get out the door. (like 10am) Laura was doing Amy's makeup and hair (she's always been our hair girl). And Also put every bow in Pearce's hair she could find. Pearce LOVES make-up and was right there by their side throughout the whole process.
It was cute, I even saw her putting blush/bronzer on her baby doll.
The girls left around noon. And later that night we went to our first Supercross as a family of 3! It's something Jeremy has always wanted, so I surprised him at Christmas with tickets for us for the Seattle Supercross, before we suddenly moved. I was lucky enough to switch them out for SLC.
It was unfamiliar territory, and we didn't have a clue where to park and ended up parking super far. It was a nightmare coming back, with a cranky-past-her-bedtime 2 year old. But we survived and left with some happy memories.
At first Pearce was a little nervous, and kept saying "too loud!". But after the initial fireworks show and announcing all of the riders with lots of cheering/screaming fans, she actually liked watching the races with daddy, just like she does at home in front of tv.
And sharing a little treat with mommy. I was hoping I would continue to be the only one in the family to love Twizzlers so I wouldn't have to share, but NOPE Pearce loves them too. :-)
