last few days with mom and jacob

Mom and Jacob are now back home.  :-( Since we don't have any summer vacations planned it was fun having visitors and made the summer feel really fun. Just a few phone photos to remember some of our last days...

Earlier in the week Mom, Pearce and I packed a picnic and went to Liberty Park. Pearce wasn't into her sandwich (surprise, surprise!) so we fed the ducks her leftovers. It's kind of embarrassing the ducks and geese scare me. I can never get to close because I freak out. I need to learn to chill out. I just don't want those crazy things biting me! Pearce, however, is not afraid at all. Wanted them to eat from her hand, and got as close (including putting one foot in) to the pond.

Mom and Jacob split their time in Provo, so Jacob could do "boy things" with his only bro. I think Freddie did a mini football camp with Jacob and all the Provo kids went to Seven Peaks. We had to pass since Pearce picked up a running nose from nursery last week. But Wednesday- they were back in SLC and we took them back to one of our favorite spots at City Creek. Jacob had just as much fun -- if not more -- at the indoor dinoland in the foodcourt. He was flying from dino to dino, and we started calling him spidey man because he's seen the new movie already 3x. Funny boy.
We love this Air Conditioned "park".
Then we went over to Temple Square again since Jacob wasn't with us last week, and walked around and grabbed lunch in the Joseph Smith Memorial building, Garden Room. And had lovely views of the Temple.

We wanted to go to one of the Church History Museums, but with a wild toddla, almost past her naptime, we had to cut it short and just go to the Visitor's Center. Pearce by now knows where to go up the ramp to see the statue of Christ. On her way up she starts whispering "be quiet" with her little pointer finger up toward her mouth.

There's that little finger below, telling us to "be quiet". :)

Fat chance for Pearce to let anyone hold her. Sorry Jacob. She will wiggle right out of your arms. I don't bother fighting it anymore. And I think once she was let down, she started twirling. She does lots of ballet moves and I guess she's learning it from Little Einsteins? I'm not sure because I don't really know much about ballet. Except it's really cute when she does it. :) And I can't believe how tall my baby brother is getting!! He looked about 6' 4" but insist they measured him for football and he is 6' 2". He's the one that "hikes" the ball. I think that's the Center? Anyways, I loved spending time with him and hearing all of his stories from his previous week's travels. He was cracking us all up. Miss you Jakie-boo. And mom. Thanks for all the dishes you washed, and hours of playtime with Pearce.

And in some other not-so-good news...Poor Jeremy pinched/damaged a/some? nerves in his upper back about 4 weeks ago, and has been in constant pain since.  Prominent arm, shoulder and back pain. :-( Geesh. It's really been bad. He's been in and out of doctor's offices, physical therapy, and chiropractor and nothing has helped very much. So now he has an MRI scheduled for Monday, and we are praying that the doctor's can figure out what is going on and how to fix it. If the MRI comes out clean, then the only last step is neuro-tests. I just really really really hope he can get some relief soon. My mom sent me a talk by Richard G. Scott, Trust in the Lord, and it is really helpful.

jacob is so tall, that is crazy! what a fun couple of weeks to spend with family. DO you think you'll put P in any dance classes, that could be fun to watch her as a little ballerina :) So sorry for Jeremy, hopefully they can figure out what's wrong asap!!

I'm glad you had so much fun with your family! Your brother seems to grown up so quickly since the last time I saw a pict of him. How fun that he got to come visit.

So cute that Pearce says "shhhh" love that.

What the heck with Jeremy??!! I'm so sorry to hear it's gone on so long and you haven't been able to figure out what's wrong. I will keep him in my prayers and hope Monday he will find some answers. I feel so bad.

Oh no Emily!! I'm so sorry about Jeremy!!! I'm sure his pain just sucks, and I'm sure he's not much help around the house, which is hard for you, too. No fun. I hope tomorrow goes ok! Prayers and hugs your way... keep us posted...

I'm so glad I don't have the only kid that wiggles out of arms and won't sit still! Sacrament meeting today with R was a bit of a disaster, hahah.

Her "quiet" face/finger melted my heart. Love temple square. Miss visiting it.
