Temple Square

My mom is in town for summer break! She'll split her time with me in SLC and the Provo kids for about two weeks. And I'm in heaven. She is wonderful and spoils me/us. She packed with her in her suitcase Bourgeois cajun beef jerky, frozen Bourgeois hamburgers and sausage,  and frozen crawfish tails, and Crawfish Monica Sauce. (Bourgeois Meat Market is her family's 3 generation Meat Market in Thibodaux, LA...right along the bayou where she grew up.)

We had a nice lazy weekend here with big dinners and 4 of us Hansen kids. But today we did some touristy things, some of our favorite Salt Lake things to do. We knew to start the day off pretty early since it only gets hotter... First off, City Creek. Beautiful outdoor mall across from Temple Square. We were there before the stores opened, but the food court with the indoor Dino-park was open. One of Pearce's favorite play spots. And it was nice having the place to ourselves.

Run, Run, Run...

When the music comes on, my little girl boogies!!! She'll say "shake your body!"

We cruised through the mall when the stores opened for a bit, but then headed over to Temple Square. I love this place! And I love taking Pearce here, or just driving by. She always ooohs, and aaaahs. Probably because she loves castles, but she knows this is even better, and that mommy and daddy got married in a temple. When she is playing with her princesses/castle at home, she once had a spider man doll "save" Snow White, then say "they are getting married in the temple".

  Still loves her balance beams.

We stopped in the Visitor's Center for a little air conditioned break, and also to see the statue of Christ. Pearce as we were walking up to it, says "outer space!" So I asked how she knew what that was and her reply "Little Einsteins". Good to know. But it was so sweet how she kept looking up at Jesus. And she said "Jesus loves me." I hope she'll love these photos one day.

We finished off the day eating lunch at The Lion House, and eating yummy chocolate pie. Jeremy --- don't worry... we brought you home a slice, too :)

You can't forget Pearce's continued obsession with Lions... because when I told her we were going to "the lion house" --- she was VERY excited. I don't think she realized it was a restaurant/cafeteria. I showed her the Lion on top of the roof, and she wanted to knock on the door, to see the Lion's House.

Silly girl... Actually took us a while to get her off that porch. Can you imagine? Nobody answered.

Downtown SLC is SO pretty. Love!

I was so sad to hear about your Father in law's heart attack. I hope all is ok and you're all hanging in there. Prayers your way!

Love seeing Pearce dance. hahaha shake your body. And her playing that Snow White and the spider man doll got married in the temple is so adorable.

She's looking so much more grown up. She looks so cute in her little polka dot dress.

So sweet at the temple statue of Christ. I'm glad she knows Jesus loves her. :)

You're looking so cute too. Love the shorter hair cut.

I didn't know P is loving Lions. Too bad the Lion House didn't have any real ones inside. hahaha
