August ended up being a pretty busy month. With visits from family, trying to get the most use out of our Seven Peaks waterpark passes (that we didn't use much the rest of the summer), and going to all 4 museums offered through the "Community Exploration card" from the library. We went to the last museum on the last day of the month -- The Leonardo. And it was a big waste of time (and money, since they talked us into upgrading to the '101 greatest inventions of all time' exhibit.) It's too bad because that was the only one I was able to drag Jeremy to, and it was the worst!
The coolest museum of them all was the Natural History Museum. And we took Brooke, Braylon and Lola with us midweek. The kids LOVED it and so did I. I'm kind of a secret science nerd and find all this stuff fascinating. Pearce asked a million questions, and although I could only answer 10% of them, I loved that she was curious and interested.
/// At first we thought it was just going to be a bunch of dinosaur bones (which there were plenty of) but they also had cool "labs" throughout the museum with different themes.
/// We all got a kick out of the glass bottom floor with dino bones and fossils below. Henry was doing push-ups like crazy and sliding across floor. (still hadn't started crawling yet.)
/// The Native American exhibit was awesome. Their beaded work and baby carriers are so intricate and thoughtful. And we took a picture for Grandma Curfew because the moccasins reminded us of her, and our trips to Miner's Burgers in Yakima, her home town. :-)
LOVED this museum, and definitely want to go again!
I dug up the old rotten looking hydrangeas (returned $ back guarantee at home depot), and replaced with beautiful, leafy, fluffy (end of season clearance) blushing bride hydrangeas from a fantastic nursery in Bountiful. It's something I just COULD NOT get my mind off of. Every day for months when I saw the old ones I was scheming for a way to "start over". And I can finally rest easy at night now. hahahaha
and just a few pics of my 2 favorite little people being ever so sweet to each other. (and a new funny face henry makes where he bunches his nose and makes snorting sounds.)
